CM Devendra Fadnavis cleared the file late last night. Mullick, a 1982 batch IAS officer is currently serving as the chief protocol officer and also handles a unit of general administration department. But the CM decided to clear only a month's extension(विस्तार) due to polls and other aspects. Though some in the IAS felt that he did not have enough experience of handling various departments, those who wanted him as chief secretary said that there was nothing controversial about him. He is also the senior most bureaucrat in the state after Kshatriya and will retire in April 2018.
