Over 400 flights grounded as typhoon hits near Tokyo


A strong typhoon stuck near Tokyo on Monday. Heavy rain and winds grounded more than 400 flights as officials warned of landslides and flooding. yphoon Mindulle made landfall in Tateyama city.  The storm was packing gusts up to 180 kilometres per hour and heading north at a speed of 20 kilometres per hour.
Downpours across the greater Tokyo region caused rivers to swell.
